Charm School

i am in a contract dispute with vh1/51 Minds. the pay for "Charm School" is $100 a day & we are filmed for 24 hours every day which is less than minimum wage (yes, they even film us while we sleep). the pay for a lead in a non reality show starts at about $650 for around 8 hours.
our contracts state that i would have to not work for a year AFTER the show comes out (reality shows take about 6 months to air so it would be a total of 18 months of not working). now mind you, i'm not even asking for more money.i am asking for my freedom.the minimum i could make on the show would be $700 total or the maximum of $3,000. i decided to NOT sign the contract until that part was rewritten.
so if i am not on the show, that is the reason.not because i was a b*tch, making incredible demands, or not "good" enough but because vh1 wants to make money off of me but does not want ME to make money.of course, if ALL the girls would come together we could ALL change these contracts(& in turn, benefit all the future girls). but, alas everyone is more concerned about prolonging their 15 minutes...
i hatehatehate this & the fact that no one is concerned about the future.i am definitely fighting this battle alone.i'm not supposed to be saying any of this but i am at the end of my rope.i am not asking for anything crazy,it should NOT be such a pain in my @ss. $100 a day is a joke & being on contract for a year while NOT even getting paid is a joke.i did an interview for vh1 last week & got paid $500 for 2 hours. it's not like they DON'T have the money the pay us a fair wage & lord knows they are not going to give me my own show anytime soon, so why would i want to be chained to a company that doesn't give a sh*t about my well being?
even if i do sign the contract as is, i am still going to work.the contract says that if i do work, they will sue me for $1 million (plus sue me for even talking about the contract or what happens behind the scenes at the show). if they decide to sue me, i say go ahead & make it happen.i don't even have 1 million pennies...
UPDATE:
May 1
3:50 pm just got a call begging me to sign the contract. said that i could work as long as i "Asked permission first". i told them they could eat me & that as a grown woman i did not need their permission not to starve (like i did for "Rock of Love").i feel a little better knowing that they are willing to compromise but i am doing THEM a favor, not the other way around.i would rather be broke than sign that contract. all i get is lies from them(i'm not going to name any names but they know who i am talking about).i love it when people act like i am some kind of retard. this is NOT my first experience on camera (i had a reality show YEARS ago that i got paid 3 times as much without a sh*tty contract).i am 100 years old, i have been working in Hollywood for about a decade now.i am no novice, not off a turnip truck & i'll be Godd@mned before i let them take advantage of me again
4:03 got another call from LL saying that i should not worry about the contract & that i just could not be on any tv shows(instead of tv shows, music videos, & movies).LL said that as a game show they could not change just 1 contract. i said "Then why not just change them all?". complete silence. then LL talked about how LL got New York a part in that sh*tty movie "First Sunday" & how i might get the same help. i laughed like a hyena 'cause i TOTALLY believe that they would help me after ignoring my calls/messages for a year (yes, that is sarcasm). LL then said that i could sign the unchanged contract & do whatever work i wanted to as long as i did not tell LL. i will leave that up on my blog because i KNOW in a couple of months i will get a message from vh1 asking me why i did work without their permission
i guess the battle is over for now & i will be on the show.i don't WANT to do it, i HAVE to do it.
eh
